Jharkhand Government approves proposal to urge Centre to declare Shravani Mela as National Mela

Deoghar: The Jharkhand government has approved a proposal to urge the Centre to declare the Shravani Mela of Deoghar as a national Mela. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the state cabinet which was held at the Circuit House here and was chaired by Chief Minister Raghubar Das.

In another key decision, the state government decided to approve the formation of the fourth state finance commission while the legal fee for the public prosecutor and additional Public Prosecutor along with special Public Prosecutor working in the Jharkhand High Court will also be increased.

A proposal of the Planning come finance department regarding payment of Rs 6. 20 crore from the contingency funds was approved from retrospective effect to make the payment following the order passed by the supreme court for ACP/MACP for employees.

The cabinet also gave administrative approval to a proposal worth Rs 85.54 crore related to the renovation of Sundar Reservoir project and lining works of the main Canal in Godda district.

It was also agreed to hand over the work for rebuilding the Dumri Bada Katra Tera Kona Road having a length of 11.40 kilometres from the rural development department to the road construction department for which a sum of Rs 56.72 crore has been sanctioned.

The cabinet also approved the proposal worth Rs 36.7 7 crore for construction of the Dumka Ring Road measuring 7.45 kilometres. Similarly, another proposal for the reconstruction of Koiyridih main road in Deoghar district will be handed over to the road construction department to rural development department worth Rs 27.92 crore.

The cabinet also gave revised Administrative approval for expansion and strengthening of Bishnugarh-Narki road in Bokaro district worth Rs 41.57 crore. Administrative approval worth Rs 50.51 crore for construction of Fatehpur Mode to Bongi via Bhelwaghati in Giridih district. The project will also be handed over from the rural development department to the road construction department.
