Garhwa: Three people lost their lives and two others were injured seriously as lightning fell in separate locations under different police station areas of this district.
The deceased have been identified as Dasrath Paswan (55), Anuranjan Kachap (18) and Akhilesh Minz (19) while the injured have been identified as Vimla Devi and Basanti Devi.
The first incident took place in Lakhya village under Meral Police Station. Dasrath Paswan, Vimla Devi and Basanti Devi were sowing groundnut in the field when the heavy downpour started. To protect themselves from the rain they had taken shelter under a tree when lightning fell in which Dasrath Paswan was killed on the spot and Vimla Devi and Basant Devi was injured.
The other incident took place in Bhayapur of Bhandariya where Anuranjan Kacchap (18) and Akhilesh Minz (17) were killed as lightning fell. The duo were later rushed to hospital were they were declared dead by the doctors.
