Committed for all round development of farmers of state: Raghubar

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said his government was dedicated for all-round development of the farmers of the state.

Chairing the review of the agriculture animal husbandry and the Cooperative Department at the project building here he said that the the central and the state government it has launched many skills for the prosperity of the farmers and the agriculture growth rate which was -4.5 percent in 2013-14 in the last 4.5 years has turned into a positive growth rate of 14.2 percent.

He said that the farmers of the state with their hard work have registered record agriculture production as a result of which in the last four years the growth rate of agriculture was more than 19 % and with the increase in the agriculture growth rate its clear that Jharkhand was rapidly moving forward to achieve the target of doubling the income of the farmers by 2022.

The Chief Minister directed the agriculture secretary Pooja Singhal to form the dairy industry promotion policy in the state so that by the year 2022 Jharkhand becomes self-dependent in milk production and to achieve this targeted work is needed to be done in a proper manner.

He directed that the tribal women should be linked with milk production as it would create employment opportunities and ask to create awareness among the tribal women for cow rearing and apprise them with the advantages of milk production. He said that in the month of September all the officials of the agriculture department would be cheering a meeting with the tribal women farmers and encourage them to undertake Dairy production.

Mr Das said to ensure your progress in the agriculture sector in the last 4.5 years for water conservation and water storage has constructed 77444 dhobas, renovated 5526 ponds, constructed 3334 tanks and created irrigation facilities on 61928 hectares of land for encouraging agriculture has distributed 964 tractors and has also constructed 2659 deep boring.

He said that for the economic prosperity of the farmers many schemes have been started by the state government and the state government is providing to rupees 283 crores as its share for the Crop Insurance Scheme and for agriculture work short term agricultural loans are being waived off.
