Ranchi peaceful after violent protest over mob lynching

Ranchi: Post the uproar which took place in the capital following a rally organised by the Muslim organisations protesting against the mob lynching in Saraikela couple of youth have been admitted in Medica Hospital. Both the injured hail from Indrapuri of Ratu Road area.

On Saturday Urban Development Minister CP Singh and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth reached the hospital to meet both the injured. Among the duo, Chandan alias Vivek Srivastava has received wound injuries in stomach and chest as he was attacked with knife while another youth Deepak was also badly beaten up. Brother of Vivek said that initially, the hospital had demanded a payment of Rs 1 lakh however after the intervention of the Sadar DSP the hospital was informed that the district administration would be looking into the medical expenses after which operation of his brother has been scheduled.

On Friday uproar had took place on two locations including Rajendra Chowk and Iqra Masjid of the main road in which an irate mob indulged in vandalism during which Windows of more than a dozen vehicles were broken by many people were also beaten up. Police had to use all its strength to bring the situation under control and post the incident in the entire City police personnel were deployed.

The district administration has registered and FIR against the organiser of the public meeting including a judge Gaddi Maulana obaidullah Khan Azmi Shamsher Alam who have been named in the FIR and have been accused of disturbing the peace of the city by organising the public meeting without any reason while earlier during that day the organizers were also prohibited from using the loudspeakers.

Police said that after the public meeting concluded at the cross Maidan of Doranda the people in different groups indulging in slogans outing were returning brac however as they were passing I people sitting in a Jamshedpur bound bus commented on them after which the anti-social elements who were part of the mob started stone pelting on the bus and also broke its windows. Has the stone pelting started people ran to save their lives however by that time the trouble mongers had broken the windows of a couple of cars and also beaten up people who were riding on the bikes.
