BJP accuses Christian Missionaries of violating CNT and SPT act the most

Ranchi: The BJP has accused the Christian missionaries of violating the provisions of CNT and SPT Acts the most in the state.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sameer Oraon said that the missionaries have violated the CNT and SPT act the most in the state. He said that in the name school, colleges universities training institutions and hospitals land was taken of the tribals and after illegal mutations church was constructed over which through probe should be held and as per legal provisions action should be taken and the land should be returned back to the tribals.

He also demanded a probe in cases where the land of the tribals used for their traditional religious purpose including Sarna Masna Jaher Sthan and others which have been forcibly acquired or taken over with the help of local administration and on them churches have been constructed should be taken back and the proper probe should be conducted.

Gumla MLA Shivshankar Oraon said that a massive campaign should be launched so that such places which have been acquired by putting up Christian symbols on prominent spots in the city should be taken back and the action should be taken against the culprits.

State unit Chief of the Morcha Ramkumar Pahan said that missionaries have misled the simple and honest tribals and encouraging them to undertake pathalgadi. He also demanded that such people who are indulged in the cultivation of opium and other drugs in Khunti, Chaibasa, Simdega etc should be identified and action be taken against them.
