Weather alert: Next few days heavy rainfall expected in Ranchi and adjoining districts

Ranchi: Monsoon activity will once again gather speed in the next four days during which Ranchi and its adjoining districts will receive a medium range of rainfall while in some of the districts along with lightning heavy rainfall has been warned.

In its weather forecast, the weather department has said that from June 30 to July 3 due to the activeness of southwestern monsoon at some places heavy to very heavy rainfall will take place. On Saturday the maximum temperature of Ranchi was recorded at 33.4 degree Celsius while the minimum was at 24.5 degree Celsius. Compared to daily average temperature there was an increase of 2 degrees in the day temperature.

The weather department has said in the next 24 hours in North Bengal bay and in regional areas a low-pressure area will be developed and in the next 48 hours, it will convert into a deep depression.

The weatherman said the monsoon turf line was located from northern parts of Punjab to Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal. Apart from that, a cyclonic circulation was currently visible between South Chhattisgarh and bordering areas of Vidharba with a height of 3.1 kilometres above the sea level. The weather department has said that in Southern and middle parts of the state one or two places will receive heavy rainfall.

In the last 24 hours Rajmahal has received a rainfall of 68.4 mm while Tilayia and Dhanbad have recorded rainfall of 70mm.
