B Tech Student Murder Case: Main accused sent to 5 days of further CBI remand

Ranchi: A special CBI court forwarded the Rahul Raj who is the main accused in the murder of B Tech student to five days of CBI remand. The court of special CBI judge Anuj Kumar Gudiya sent the accused on five days of CBI remand despite the CBI demanding for 9 days of remand.

Rahul who is also a B Tech student was taken into custody by the CBI on June 22 from Lucknow jail where he was lodged in connection with another rape case. The accused hails from Dhurgaon of Nalanda district of Bihar. Rahul is the main accused in the rape and murder of a B Tech girl which had taken place on December 16, 2016, in Booty Basti of Ranchi. The girl was first raped and later set on fire by the accused. The case was later handed over to the CBI from the Jharkhand police.
