Daltonganj: A team of the Palamu Bureau of the ACB arrested the treasury assistant while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 red-handed.
The arrested has been identified as assistant clerk Mrityunjay Singh. A complaint against him was filed by one Anil Kumar Tiwari who had retired as a constable from the excise department in the year November 2018. However, the man had still not received his pension money as the bill was in the treasury.
He said that Singh had demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 to transfer the money in his account but as the man refused to pay his pension money was denied after which Tiwari registered a complaint with the ACB. Following the verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and the man was caught red-handed as soon as he accepted the bribe amount.
