Government committed to provide better healthcare facilities at RIMS: CM

Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that improving the healthcare facilities at the state’s largest government Hospital Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences is a priority for the state government.

Chairing a high level review meeting at the project building here over the functioning of RIMS he said that to ensure that the people get better health care facilities and arrangements all stakeholders will have to play their  respective roles including doctors officials and other healthcare staff as people from poor sections come for treatment at the hospital and assured that the government will provide all possible help for the betterment of RIMS.

He directed that a new and bigger OPD should be built in the hospital and some OPDs, for the time being, should be shifted to the paying ward so that more patients can be treated. He said that it is often in news that due to non functioning of the machines the patients are forced to get their test done outside and in this some deliberate wrongdoing has also been reported, henceforth in case of any problem in the machine it will be the responsibility of the concerned department head to get the machine repaired within a week and delay will lead to action against them.

The Chief Minister said that the government has with it a list of doctors of RIMS who are doing private practice and now the Anti Corruption Bureau will conduct a probe in their works and directed that brokers found roaming in RIMS should be severely dealt with and cases should be registered against them if they are caught in the hospital premises.

In the meeting it was decided that within 15 days posts of senior resident doctors would be created and within a month the process of filling the posts of nurses would be completed. He also directed Director General of Police K N Choubey to visit the hospital and provide police personnel as per the requirement and said that in cases of accidents a team of police should be deployed in RIMS for OD and they should be positioned therein three shifts. He also directed that passes should be issued for the relatives of the patients and the time for meeting them should also be fixed.

Mr Das also directed to keep the record of the medicines in the computers so that correct information is available regarding their availability and special care should be given to ensure that there is no lack of medicines in the Hospital. The Chief Minister also directed to remove the shops which are located in the RIMS premises and also said that they should be relocated at some other place and along with that place for parking should be identified and vehicles should be parked in that only.
