Organisation stage dharna before Raj Bhawan demanding CBI probe in Tabrez’s killing

Ranchi: Various social and political organizations staged a dharna before the Raj Bhawan here demanding for a CBI probe into the killing of Tabrez Ansari who was lynched in Saraikela district of the state.

Apart from representatives of social organizations, leaders from Congress, JVM(P), RJD and Left parties participated in the demonstrations and called for a CBI probe into the incident. Earlier a procession was also taken out from the Jaipal Singh stadium which ended at the Raj Bhawan. On the night of June 17-18 Tabrez Ansari of Kadamdiha village of Kharsawan was lynched in Ghatkidih over the suspicion of bike theft.

He was badly beaten up by the crowd who had forced him to raise slogans and later was handed over to the police. The youth who had suffered serious injuries passed away on Saturday raising questions over the functioning of local police.
