CM makes surprise visit at RIMS, asks to provide facilities on par with private hospitals

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das made a surprise visit to the state’s largest government hospital Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here.

He said RIMS should be operated in a professional manner as people from across the state come here for treatment. He said that all needed to make efforts so that people coming to the hospital can get better treatment and also proper arrangements and directed the RIMS administration to make arrangements on par with the private hospitals and said that with one patient only one attendant should be allowed and even the same rule should be put into effect into emergency.

The Chief Minister said that due to more crowd not only the doctors face problem in treatment but patients also suffer and said that the relatives of the patient should co-operate with the RIMS management in this regard. He asked the hospital management to issue pass and only after that anyone should be allowed inside moreover the relatives should also show their pass than only should be allowed to meet the patient and also on regular intervals examination should be conducted so that no additional person can come inside and if anyone is found then they should be requested to leave or else strict action should be taken against them.

Mr Das also directed to install fans immediately in the emergency unless the ACs are put up as the injured and ill patients have to suffer from warm weather. He asked the hospital administration to give an estimate of making the entire Hospital equipped with centralised air conditioning and said that the government would be providing fund for this through CSR and also directed to keep the premises of the hospital neat and clean.

Addressing the doctors who were present in the ward he said that they are considered as god by the patients and they should serve the poor as their blessings will help them achieve great success in life and also asked them to be in constant touch with patients and suggested that on a daily basis the doctors should visit their wards.

RIMS Director Dinesh Kumar Singh said that OPD has become very old and there were no proper facilities for patients and their relatives to sit over which the Chief Minister said that all process for making a new and bigger OPD should be completed and assured full cooperation from the government in its construction and said that a waiting room for the family members of the patients should also be built where arrangements for water toilets and food on cheap rate should be provided.
