Rs 5000 crore to be spent for rural economy and prosperity of farmers: Raghubar

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the central and the state government will be giving Rs 5000 crore in the next two-three months which will go into the rural economy and help in its strengthening and will also bring prosperity in the lives of the farmers.

Addressing the farmers after launching the Pradhanmantri Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojana at the Khelgaon here he said that both the central and the state governments were working with an aim to bring a smile on the faces of the farmers and double their income. He said that the manner in which the central government was giving them the benefits under Pradhanmantri Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojana similarly in the month of July they will be getting the benefits of Mukhyamantri Krishi Aashirwad Yojana under which farmers having 1 to 5 acres of land will be getting a minimum of Rs 5,000 and a maximum of Rs 25,000 therefore if combined than under both the schemes a farmer will be getting at least Rs 11,000 and a maximum of Rs 31,000 for agriculture-related works.

The Chief Minister said that since farmers did not have land records they were not able to take advantage of the scheme after which the state government urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard and in the very first meeting of the cabinet keeping in mind the interest of the farmers of the state the rules were amended after which on the basis of family tree farmers can get benefits of the scheme. Mr Das said that the central government under the ambit of the scheme has included all category of farmers as earlier only farmers having two hectares of land were considered eligible for it but the Prime Minister has now decided that all would be covered under the scheme.
