Councilors create uproar in standing committee meet of RMC

Ranchi: The standing committee meeting of the Ranchi Municipal Corporation which was called after three months witnessed uproar by the councilors who raised the issue of the severe water crisis in the city and also alleged the officials of the corporation of being negligent over the issue.

Councilor of ward number 26 Arun Jha said that for water even people attacked each other with knives and many were injured but people did not even turn up to look at them. He said that despite the demands of tanker it was not provided for water supply. The councilor said that in the entire city the situation was same however in such areas were there is no pipeline or deep borewell there the situation is far worse and said that if the solution is not provided to the problems of the people than they would be forced to come on the roads. 

They also demanded a plan from the officials as to how they will tackle the issue of water logging in monsoon. In the meeting it was also decided to take plantation drive in all the 53 wards to make Ranchi a herbal city and discussion over beautification of prominent spots was also done. The councilors also asked to increase the facilities which are being provided for the cleanliness of the city.

The meeting was attended by mayor Asha Lakra, deputy mayor Sanjeev Vijayvargyee, Town C o m m i s s i o n e r Manoj Kumar and others.
