Daltonganj: Police has arrested six members of a dacoit gang who had committed loot at Allahabad Bank branch in Chattarpur of the Palamu district and had also attempted a heist in PNB’s Panki branch.
Palamu SP Ajay Linda said that both the bank loot related incidents were taken as a challenge by the police which had formed three separate team to arrest the culprits. He said that following the inputs of the technical cell first one Vicky Gupta was caught from Andharibagh of Pipra after which arrests were made from Chattarpur and Medninagar.
He said that a total of 12 criminals were involved in these two incidents out of which 6 have been arrested and remaining have been identified. He said that the arrested apart from Vicky Gupta included Bittu Gupta alias Pawan Gupta, Pappu alias Aakash Paswan, Sunny alias Bittu, Rehan Ansari and Sohail Ansari.
A desi katta, three cartridges of .315 bore, Rs 70,000 in cash, 6 mobile phones and three motorcycles have been recovered from their possession.
