Bank staffs prompt action prevents loot in PNB’s Panki branch

Daltonganj: Prompt action by the staffs prevented an attempted loot at the Panki branch of the Punjab National Bank in the Palamu district.

Police said that the bank is located in Basdiha which is 500 meters away from the main road. Around 3 pm five criminals on borne couple of bikes reached at the bank. Three of them got inside while two others stayed outside.

Since the bank was crowded with people the staff got suspicious by the activities of these three men and pressed the siren due to which the criminals got scared and ran away from the spot. Locals said that while fleeing the miscreants also fired in air to create panic among the people and also beat a bank employee who tried to catch one of them.

Confirming the incident Palamu SP Inderjeet Mahtha said that search operations are on in the area as the borders of Palamu and Latehar districts have been sealed. He said that he had also spoken to Latehar SP and soon the criminals will be nabbed. The SP also appreciated the prompt action of the bank staff.
