CM reviews functioning of school education and literacy

 Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that in the last four-five years many easy steps have been taken in the area of school education and literacy due to which the state government has also received the appreciation of the central government. 

Chairing a review meeting over the functioning of the education department at the project building here he said that compared to the early days, at present improvement has been made in the primary and high school education system in the state. He said that so far 31,000 teachers have been directly appointed and process for hiring more teachers is also on, as after their recruitment not only the results improved but the dropout rate has also declined.

For new recruitment, he has directed that district-wise application should be invited and soon exams should be conducted and said that apart from simplifying the rules teachers in regional languages should be appointed. He said that there was a lack of teachers in the tribal dominated districts therefore focus should be accorded to such areas and where there are no teachers on for class basis teachers should be hired. Redirected to accord focus on Santhal Pargana Kolhan Palamu divisions and districts like Latehar and Garhwa. 

To improve the education system in the state the chief minister has directed to fix a target and work accordingly. He said that in the schools' desk and benches and power has been provided and now work is on to provide water in them for which under CSR or from the funds of the 14th Finance Commission work would be done. He also suggested that for the training of the teachers of the state from other states experts should be called to prepare master trainers and suggested that to stop migration school pass out students should be given vocational training. 

He asked JCERT to design syllabus in such a manner which would strengthen nationalism and feelings towards the state among the students and said that students should be also be taught about the great men who sacrificed their life. He said over the improvement of the results the performance of the principles of the schools and Block Development officers would be assessed and said that such schools which are performing better they should be awarded at the state level while those performing bad on them action should be taken. He said for providing School uniforms in some district help of self help groups have been taken and in such district where it has been not been done their self help groups should be involved along with the local women. 

He also suggested that the principles of the schools can spend a small amount for maintaining cleanliness in the school which can help in a great way in changing the environment. In the meeting, it was informed that the union HRD ministry has appreciated the Akanksha Yojana in the state under which training for medical and Engineering is being provided to the students studying in the government school and so far 47 such students have been selected. It was informed that enrollment in the state from primary to the high school level has increased over which the Chief Minister said that in such districts where transition rate is less on them special focus should be accorded.

The official said that in the state 1828 panchayats have been declared zero dropouts which consists of 17366 schools and in the next year or target has been set to you further declare another 500 Panchayat zero dropouts. In the meeting the Chief Minister said that Mukhiya as and principal of the schools which have achieved zero dropout they should be given a letter of appreciation by his side while officials were also allotted for their better work in e Vidya Vahini scheme mid day meal etc.

Mr Das directed that for improvement in higher education agreement with big Institutions should be e than and these institutions should run the educational institutions in which children of the state should be given priority and the short that the state government would be extending all possible help to them. Stressing on school development he said that it was the most effective method to check the migration and create employment.
