Woman run over by speeding truck in Koderma

Koderma: A woman in her mid-fifties was run over by a speeding truck on the Koderma-Giridih main road under Nawalsahi Police Station area of this district. Agitated over the incident the locals blocked traffic movement on the road due to which a long queue of vehicles was stranded on both sides.

The deceased was identified as Rafiya Devi. The husband of the deceased said that his wife was going to her farm when she was run over by the truck due to which she died on the spot.

The locals called off their agitation after local administration handed Rs 7,000 as immediate aid for performing the last rites and also assured benefits of other social security schemes including a house under PMAY. Later the body was sent for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital.
