Raghubar meets Gadkari, demands to link Dhamra port with Sahibganj

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday met Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi during which he demanded that under Bharatmala Project Sahibganj be linked with Dhamra Port.

He said that under the project a road of 707 kilometers from Dhanbad to Raipur and Sambalpur to Ranchi 323 kilometers be included as high priority roads rather than medium priority road.

Along with that the Chief Minister also urged the Union Minister to include the construction of a 790 kilometers four-lane road from Sahibganj to Dhamra Port of Odisha as an economic corridor under the Bharatmala project. He said that the road will prove to be highly beneficial to link Jharkhand and Odisha with the North East with the economic point of view also.

During the meeting, he also informed Mr Gadkari about the progress in various road construction projects in the state.

Later he also met Union Railways and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. Earlier he also called upon Social Justice Minister Thawarchand Gehlot and extended his greetings. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Jharkhand was playing its vital role in making a new India and with his cooperation the state would further move to achieve the targets.
