Garhwa: A priest of a temple was stabbed to death in Pato village under Vishunpura police station area of this district.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Sundar Bhuiyan (55) who was a resident of Jogiral village under Ramana police station area.
The incident came to notice when people came in the morning to offer prayers at the temple during which they found a badly injured priest in the bushes near the temple after which police was informed.
He was rushed to sub-divisional hospital at Bansidhar Nagar but unfortunately, he passed on the way. In his statement to the police before dying, he claimed that five men from the village whom he did not allow to consume meat and liquor in the temple had attacked him with knives and rods after which police registered and fir in this connection.
