Ranchi: Jailed former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav filed his bail petition before the High Court here in connection with the Deoghar Treasury Case of the Fodder Scam.
In the Deoghar Treasury Case, a special CBI court had awarded 3.5 years of imprisonment to Mr Yadav. In this case, he has already spent half the quantum of sentence in the jail which according to the directions of the Supreme Court makes him eligible to apply for bail.
The lawyers of Mr Yadav have used the same condition in their bail plea before the court. The CBI court in Ranchi has already awarded imprisonment to Mr Yadav in Dumka, Deoghar and Chaibasa treasury cases of the Fodder Scam.
He is currently admitted at paying ward of RIMS where he is undergoing treatment for various health-related issues.
