Chaupati to come up at banks of Bada Talab

Ranchi: The Bada Talab which is located in the heart of the city would soon be developed as a tourism spot where a Chaupati would also come up along with the night market where people would be able to purchase items and enjoy delicacies.

On the banks of the pond on every Saturday and Sunday a night market would be set up as preparations in this regard has been commenced by the municipal corporation post the directions of Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth. On Thursday the MP along with the government officials had visited the pond and looked into the development which was currently on in the area. The MP also expressed his anguish over the development was being undertaken in the area and pointed that in the name of beautification the size of the font is being reduced and the entire surrounding was full of garbage and said that a complaint in this regard would be done with the Chief Minister as the beautification work was also been done under his instruction.

Mr Seth said that this was the dream project of the chief minister and at no cost the pond will be allowed to wear a deserted look. He directed the municipal corporation to form a nodal agency for the night market and asked the mayor to to co-ordinate works in this regard. She also asked the city SP to make arrangements of security and the SDO to look into the law and order situation. In the night market which would come off at the banks of the pond prominence would be given to handicraft maker and products sold by women self help group and hawkers.
