New media to act as bridge to provide reach of welfare schemes to people: Director IPRD

Ranchi: A workshop was organised at the Suchana Bhawan here by the IPRD over better public relations and new techniques being used in public relations work in which all the DPROs, Assistant Public Officers and social media publicity officers participated. 

IPRD Director Ramlakhan Prasad Gupta said that under a joint initiative of Ranchi University and IPRD a FM channel Khanchi Radio would be started soon. He said that it is the priority for the department to ensure that all the programs reach to the people. He said that the department was using all other possible means of communication to ensure the reach of the government to the masses. He said that when the people will be aware about the policies and programmes of the government. 

Director of community radio of Ranchi University Anand Kumar Thakur shared detail insights and said that with the help of GOI community radio will he started in all the district of the state. CUJ Dean and Head of Mass Comminication Department Devrath Singh said detailed on the responsibility of the public relations officer and pointed that across the world social media is being widely used. He said that whether it was villages or the city people were actively using social media and people are on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. He said that social media can be used as an effective tool to highlight the schemes of the state government. 

Assistant Professor of CUJ Rashmi Sinha detailed as to how print, electronic and social media can be used for ensuring the reach of the government schemes. Those present on the occasion also included Additional Secretary IPRD Ramakant Singh, all deputy directors and other officials.
