Even if u have money water will be not available as hydrant fails

Ranchi: While on one hand there are talks of making Ranchi smart city on the other hand as a matter of harsh reality the people of the city are finding it hard to get water for their needs. Such is the condition in the city that despite having money people are not getting water for their functions. The RMC has given a contract to a private contractor to give water who books tanker and gives them to people.

However, for the last one week, the contractor has stopped taking orders as neither he has the tanker nor the water. The hydrant of the RMC at Bakri Bazar has failed after which the RMC took back its tanker from the contractor, therefore, people who are planning to buy water for their needs are not getting the water. The most severe water crisis is being faced in Harmu and Vidyanagar areas and also in Pandra, Piska Mode, Laxmi Nagar and Morhabadi areas. In these areas, more than 10,000 borewells have dried up. The RMC is only supplying water in these areas once in 24 hours.

In many wards, the HYDT has dried and even borewells having a capacity of 300-400 feet have dried up. Even in the month of Ramzan people are found jostling for their water needs first.
