Three time CM Munda a tribal face of BJP in Jharkhand

Ranchi: (IANS): Three times former Chief Minister and second time Lok Sabha MP from Khunti was inducted as 13th cabinet rank minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi cabinet on Thursday. Munda started his political carrier from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). He became legislator first time in 1995 on JMM ticket.

He joined BJP before 2000 assembly poll and became legislator second time. He became Minister in Babulal Marandi govt in Jharkhand in 2000.

He became Chief Minister at age of 36 years in 2005. He remained Chief Minister three times from 2003 March to March 2005, March 2005 to September 2006, August 2010 to January 2013. He was elected to Lok Sabha from Jamshedpur in 2009 but resigned after becoming Chief Minister. He won the 2019 Lok Sabha poll from Khunti. Khunti was earlier represented by Karia Munda.

Munda was born on May 3, 1968, to Ganesh Munda and Saira Munda in Kharanjhar of Jamshedpur and is youngest among the three siblings. He completed his high school from Jamshedpur and graduation from Ranchi University and also holds PG diploma from IGNOU. Married to Meera Munda he has also three sons.
