Dumka: Three people were killed and more than a dozen sustained injuries following a collision between a passenger vehicle and a hyva at Jiya Paani village under Gopikandar police station area of this district.
Police said that the occupants of the passenger vehicle were going to Amrapara of Pakur district to perform a tilak ceremony when near Jiya Paani village the vehicle carrying the people rammed into the hyva which was parked stationery on the spot.
Such was the impact of the accident that three people were killed on the spot while the injured were taken to Amrapara Community Healthcare Centre from where they were referred to Dumka Sadar Hospital for better medical aid.
The deceased have been identified as Rihai Dehri 58, Kiran Rai 62 and Mukesh Rai 24, all of them were from Hansdiha Police Station area.
