Sanjay Seth wins hotseat of Ranchi by margin of 2.83 lakh votes

Ranchi: Despite being the announced the last minute candidate by the BJP for the prestigious Ranchi Lok Sabha seat of the state Jharkhand Khadi Board Chairman Sanjay Seth managed to win the seat by a massive margin of more than 2.83 lakh votes.
Mr Seth who was initially branded as a newcomer and a face which was not recognized beyond the boundaries of the Ranchi city managed to pull on a massive show by polling 57.21 per cent of the valid votes amounting 704301 votes.

He defeated his nearest rival former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Subodhkant Sahai by a margin of 2,83,026 votes. Sahai got 34.3 per cent of the valid votes. The victory for the BJP is also a favorable result in the credentials of Chief Minister Raghubar Das as Mr Seth was described as his candidate from the seat.

Moreover, the BJP was also receiving flak for having denied its senior leader Ramtahal Chowdhary a ticket from the seat despite having the best performance report among the party MPs.
