Mahagathbandhan in Jharkhand accepts defeat, calls for introspection

Ranchi: The Mahagathbandhan in Jharkhand has accepted its defeat in the elections and has called for introspection not only in the parties separately but also on a whole among the allies.

State’s main opposition party the JMM said that it accepted the verdict of the people and extended its congratulations not only to Prime Minister Narendra Modi but also to last level workers of the NDA and the intelligent voters of the state.

JMM’s general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the party is of the belief that the people have voted for the national perspective in these polls but at the time of the assembly elections its verdict will be in the favour of the JMM.

He said that the party will review the verdict and would make note of the mistakes made from the booth level to the district level. Mr Bhattacharya hoped that the new government will be able to fulfill the promises which it has made to the people.

On the other hand, JPCC spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey said that his party accepts the verdict of the people. He said that the people were carried away by the issues of Pulwama, Balakot and nationalism while the issues of unemployment, farmers suicide, demonetisation and mob lynching took a back seat.

He said that it appears that Mahaganthbandhan in the state was not able to make the people understand its policies and programs and said that BJP won in these polls as it was successful in marketing the emotions of the people.
