FIR registered against Hemant Soren and his wife for violation of model code of conduct

Ranchi: An FIR has been registered against JMM’s acting president and Leader of Opposition Hemant Soren and his wife for violation of model code of conduct as the duo had cast their votes on May 6 in Ranchi wearing a scarf of their party.

An official statement issued here said that during the polls of Ranchi Lok Sabha on May 6 at pooling booth number 288 Saint Francis School the former Chief Minister along with his wife had cast their vote wearing the scarf of their party. The allegation against him was probed by judicial magistrate Ranchi Rakesh Ranjan Oraon after a complaint in this regard was forwarded by the election commission.

After the allegation proved to be true an FIR was registered at Argora Police Station bearing case number 19/19 dated May 13 under section 138(e) of the Representation of People’s Act 1951 and Section 188 of the IPC.
