Battle Ground Jharkhand: Election Sunday as 4 Lok Sabha seats of state go to polls

Ranchi: Elections will be held on the four Lok Sabha seats of Jharkhand including Giridih, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur and Singhbhum (ST) in the sixth phase on Sunday where a total of 66,85,401 lakh voters will decide the future of 67 candidates who are in the fray on these four seats. 

Among the 66.85 lakh voters, 35,05,565 are male voters and 31,79,720 female voters who will be turning up at 8,300 polling booths spread across these four constituencies to elect their member of parliament. Among the 8,300 booth 3,908 booths have been declared sensitive and another 1762 very sensitive. Polling on these seats will commence from 0700hrs on these seats.

As many of the areas fall in the LWE zone the election commission has made elaborate security arrangements with more than 40,000 security personnel comprising 175 companies of the paramilitary forces being deployed on poll duty along with the state police. Further three helicopters will be keeping an aerial watch in the sensitive areas while in case of emergency an air ambulance has been also positioned in Ranchi.
