Battle Ground Jharkhand Campaigning comes to an end on 3 lok Sabha seats of Jharkhand

Ranchi: Campaigning on Saturday came to an end on the three Lok Sabha seats of Jharkhand including Chatra, Lohardaga (ST) and Palamu (SC) where polls will be held on Apr 29.

A total of 59 candidates are in the race for these three seats with a maximum of 26 candidates in Chatra, 14 in Lohardaga and 19 others in Palamu. Total of 45,26, 691 voters are eligible to cast their votes on 6072 polling booths spread across these three seats. The total number of male voters was 23,85,932, female voters 21,40,750 and 11 third gender voters. Voters can cast their votes from 7 am to 4 pm.

After the end of the campaigning, the candidates can now indulge in the door to door campaigning during which they are not allowed to organise any public meetings or use loudspeakers or any other form of sound systems.

The main battle in Chatra is between Sunil Singh of the BJP, Manoj Yadav of the Congress and Subhash Yadav of the RJD while in Lohardaga Sudarshan Bhagat of the BJP will take on Sukhdeo Bhagat of the Congress. On the other hand in Palamu the main battle is between VD Ram of the BJP and Ghuran Ram of the RJD. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself led the campaign for the BJP as he addressed a public meeting in Lohardaga while BJP’s national president Amit Shah also addressed an election meeting in Palamu, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh also addressed public meetings in Chatra and Palamu. No major star campaigner of the Congress campaigned
in this seat however, JMM’s Hemant Soren did the campaign for Mahagathbandhan candidates in Lohardaga and Palamu.
