Additional CEO Manish Ranjan asks to intensify sweep programmes

Ranchi: Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr Manish Ranjan has directed to speed up the voter awareness programmes in the state so that the voting percentage can be increased in Jharkhand.

In a meeting with the officials of railways, bank, CISF, postal department, NCB and IT department he asked them to create awareness over the Model code of conduct, c-vigil app, voter helpline app, the formation of voter awareness forum and facilities to be provided to the divyang voters. He said that it is the responsibility of these departments to participate actively to increase the voter percentage in the polls.

Mr Ranjan asked the officials that apart from educating the voters they should also encourage them to vote and said that material for creating the awareness can be downloaded from the site of the commission and also asked the nodal officials that as master trainers they should train the staff of their offices and institutions.

Dr Ranjan said that for the convenience of the divyang voters facilities of ramp, wheel chair and separate queue for them and other facilities including free pick and drop would be provided to them while they would also be informed about the location of their booths. On the other hand for the blind there would be facility of braille in their EVM while volunteers at the polling booths would also be available for their help.
