Chief Electoral Officer reviews preparations for polls in Chatra

Chatra: State’s Chief Electoral Officer L Khiyangate reviewed the preparations for Lok Sabha polls in Chatra during which senior officials of the police and district administration were also present.

During the meeting, the CEO went through the working module to be put in place for the conduct of the elections and also looked into the arrangements of water, power and toilets at all the booths. In the meeting, the DC Chatra Jitendra Kumar Singh said that all booths and clusters the arrangements of water, power and toilets have been made. In the meeting, it was informed that under the sweep programme many measures have been adopted including organizing motorcycle rally, cycle rally, human chain formation, processions in schools and colleges while electoral literacy clubs have been also formed in all the colleges and universities. The club will not only create voter awareness but will also encourage people in and around their surroundings to vote.

Mr Singh said that there are a total of 2512 Divyang voters in Chatra constituency for whom arrangements of ramp have been made while the total number of voters was 14,22,805 which included 6,74,207 female voters and 7,48,596 voters and 2 third gender voters. The CEO later also visited Chatra college and looked into the facilities.

Those who were also present on the occasion also included Additional Chief Electoral Officers Manish Ranjan and Vinay Kumar Choubey, IG CRPF Sanjay Latkar, IG Jharkhand Police Aashish Batra and others.
