Notification issued for 7th phase of polling on 3 Lok Sabha seats on Jharkhand

Ranchi: Notification has been issued for the seventh phase of polling on the three Lok Sabha seats of Jharkhand including Rajmahal (ST), Dumka (ST) and Godda.

Addressing a press conference state’s chief electoral officer L Khiyangate today said that with the issue of notification the process of filing of nominations has commenced on these four seats. He said that the last date of filing of nominations on these three seats is April 29 while scrutiny will take place on April 30 and the candidates can withdraw their names by May 2. Voting on these four seats will be held on May 19.

Mr Khiyangate said that the total number of voters on Rajmahal seat is 14,34,506 which included 7,31,659 men, 7,02,840 female voters and 7 third gender voters. On Dumka Lok Sabha seat the total number of voters was 13,63,714 which included 7,01,538 male, 6,62,165 female and 11 third gender voters.

Similarly, in Godda the total number of voters was 16,91,410 which included 8,92,930 male, 7,98,474 female and 6 third gender voters. Adding further he said that the total number of new voters in the age group of (18-19 years) on these seats jointly stand at 39,504. He said that the election commission has completed all the preparations for filing of nominations on these three seats. Mr Khiyangate said that the total number of polling booths on these three seats was 6,258 out of which 489 polling booths are located in urban areas and another 5,769 are in rural areas.
