Ranchi: The process of filing of nominations for the 5th phase of elections to be held on four Lok Sabha seats from Jharkhand including Koderma, Ranchi, Khunti (ST) and Hazaribagh came to an end with a total of 183 candidates filing their nominations on these seats.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on April 20 while candidates can withdraw their names by April 22. Voting on these seats will be held on May 6.
Counting of votes takes place on May 23.
On the Koderma Lok Sabha, overall 34 candidates have filed their nominations while for Ranchi 61 nominations have been filed. Similarly in Khunti 45 and in Hazaribagh 43 nominations have been filed
Prominent candidates who have filed their nominations on these seats included former Chief Minister Arjun Munda who is BJP candidate from Khunti, Congress candidate Subodhkant Sahai from Ranchi, Annapurna Devi of the BJP from Koderma, Jayant Sinha of BJP from Hazaribagh, Babulal Marandi of JVM(P) from Koderma etc.
