Giridih: Though it is being described as mere coincidence the meeting of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi and former state unit chief of the BJP and sitting Koderma MP Ravindra Kumar Rai at a temple at Suriya has set a political buzz in the state. Not long back Marandi and Rai were the closest of confidants as when Marandi left BJP Ravindra Rai also left with him however both of them parted their ways. While Mr Rai came back as state BJP chief and was subsequently elected as the MP from Koderma while Mr Marandi was bitten in the Modi wave not only in the assembly elections but also in the Lok Sabha.
However, under the present circumstances, Mr Marandi is contesting as the candidate of Mahagathbandhan from Koderma Lok Sabha sear while Mr Rai has been dropped and in his place, Annapurna Devi has been fielded from Koderma. However, on the occasion of Chaitra Navratri Mr Marandi had reached the temple of Goddess Durga at Thakurbadi Tola to seek her blessings to win the poll and paid his obeisance. After the Aarti at the temple was over Mr Marandi met Rai who was also inside the temple.
The leaders also had few minutes of talks between them, however before leaving Marandi also met the wife of Dr Rai. While some are seeing this meet as mere coincidence others are talking about their old friendship days. However no matter what the political space in Koderma has definitively started talking.
