SDO chairs meeting in Ratu

Ranchi: SDO Garima Singh chaired the meeting between members of two communities at the Ratu Police Station and asked the people not to pay any attention towards the rumors. She asked the villagers to report any illegal activities to the local administration. On Saturday during Ramnavmi procession in Hurhuri village clash between members of two communities had broken during the agitators had set a house on fire and four homes were damaged.

Post the incident large number of policemen have been deployed in the village to prevent any further flaring up of the situation. Apart from the SDO the Rural SP was also camping on the spot. Anti-social elements had tried to even loot the arms of the SSB jawans who had reached on the spot and had damaged their vehicle. 

Later additional troops were rushed in who initially fired tear gas shells and lathi-charged but as things went out of control police was forced to fire in air to disperse the crowd. In the incident which also involved stone pelting by the agitators, a dozen people were injured. The situation was said to be under control in the village.
