Ranchi: A high alert has been sounded in the state in wake of the festival of Ramnavmi which will be celebrated on Saturday. Police headquarter sources said that SPs of all the districts have been asked to make elaborate security arrangements including the additional deployment of police personnel in the communally sensitive area, installation of CCTVs, undertake videography of the route to be taken out by the procession organizing committees etc.
In the state capital Ranchi, the entire city has been distributed in 10 zones for which a magistrate has been appointed while in the entire district 294 magistrates have been deputed. In the district, additional 3000 jawans comprising those of RAF and SAF would be deployed along with the district police. In its instruction, the headquarters has asked the police officials to keep a special eye on the security at religious spots.
The administration has already announced that strict action would be taken if the members of puja organizing committees are caught playing objectionable songs. A special vigil will be kept on trouble mongers and such anti-social elements who might try to flare up nuisance during the festival. Due to the festival, the traffic police in Ranchi has come up with a special traffic plan as apart of which entry to heavy vehicles have been banned in the city moreover movement of four-wheelers will also be banned on key routes in the city from where procession would be taken out.
