347 complaints related to violation of MCC registered on cVIGIL  app

Ranchi: Since the model code of conduct came into effect on March 10 a total of 347 cases related to its violation has been registered on the cVIGIL app. Addressing a press conference here state CEO L Khiyangate said that out of the 347 complaints, 109 cases were found to be correct by the ARO/ RO while 99 complaints were dropped at their level and at DCC level 138 complaints were also dropped. He said that most numbers of complaints related to the violation of the model code of conduct were registered from Ranchi at 84 which was followed by East Singhbhum at 32 and Dhanbad 29. He said that a total of 34 FIRs have been registered in cases related to violation of model code of conduct with a maximum of 8 in Bokaro, 7 in Hazaribagh and Ranchi 5.

The CEO said that so far in the state items worth Rs 5.04 crore has been seized which included a cash of Rs 1.96 crore. He said that till April 30 suspicious illegal cash and other prohibited substances including liquor, ganja and other contraband substance amounting to Rs 5.04 crore has been seized in the state. Adding further he said that of the Rs 1.96 crore in cash which has been seized by the police 1.57 crore has been seized by the police and 39 lakh by the IT department.
