Nomination for Ranchi Lok Sabha polls to commence from Wednesday

Ranchi: The nomination process for the Ranchi Lok Sabha seat will be commencing from Wednesday. Addressing a press conference at the collectorate here Ranchi DC Rai Mahimpet Rey said that notification will be issued tomorrow and with that, the process of filing of nomination would commence. He said that candidates coming for the filing of nominations will be allowed to bring only three vehicles with them and for even staging out the procession prior permission is a must.

He said that all preparations for the process of filing of nominations has commenced in the collectorate and said that nomination would be filed in room No 206. On the other hand, Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta who was also on the spot said that elaborate security arrangements have been made for the nomination and said that strict action would be taken for violation of model code of conduct. He said that in the nomination room along with the candidate only five people would be allowed entry which would include the proposer and the lawyer and said that supporters of the candidates would not be allowed inside the collectorate and said that slogan shouting in any form will not be allowed as it would be considered a violation of model code of conduct.

He said that the entire nomination process would be watched through the CCTV camera and said that in the nomination room also CCTV would be installed and videography of the nomination process would be also undertaken.

To a query, Ranchi DC said that the task of including the names in the voter list will continue till April 9 as till now the voter list has not been published and said that the final voter list would be declared on the last day of filing of the nomination process.
