Six legislator including Minister are poll fray in Jharkhand

Ranchi: legislators including one Minister of Jharkhand are in the poll fray of 2019 Lok Sabha poll. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress have fielded two each and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM-P) has filed one legislator in the poll. Congress has fielded two tribal legislator Sukhdeo Bhagat from Lohardagga and Geeta Koda from Chaibasa. Both seats are reserved for tribal. Sukhdeo Bhagat will take BJP MP and central Minister Sudarsan Bhagat from Lohardagga.

Bhagat was state president of Congress from 2013 to 2018. Lohardagga has been the bastion of the BJP in previous polls. Sudarshan Bhagat had won the 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha poll. In 2004, Rameshwar Oran former IPS official and Congress candidate had won the LOhardagga seat. In 2014, Sudarsan Bhagat had defeated Rameshwar Oraon by only over 2000 votes. Geeta Koda is the wife of former Chief Minister Madhu Koda. Geeta Koda will take on state BJP president and sitting MP, Lakshman Giluwa. Chaibasa had been a bastion of the Congress. Bagun Sumbrai a Congress leader had won the Chaibasa Lok Sabha seat for five times.
