BJP accuses Soren family of land grabbing, JMM says ready for all kinds of probe

Ranchi: The BJP has once again accused the Soren family of grabbing large tracts of land by violating the CNT and SPT acts in the state. Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here today party spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo handed to the media details of 32 properties of the Soren family spread across Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Sahibganj, Godda, Giridih, etc. He said that there is a clear provision in the CNT and SPT acts that land cannot be purchased outside the revenue police station area, therefore, how come the Soren family managed to earn properties in seven districts. 

Pratul said that BJP wants to know where is the original residence of the Soren family. He also highlighted the registry of 16 plots in Bokaro in a day and said that the family should be given a place in Limca Book of Records for getting so much property registered in the name of one family. To a query, he said that in such matters law takes its own course but for people who claim to work for the Adivasis and the moolvasis are the ones who have really exploited the acts which have been made for the safeguard of the tribals and their lands. 

Hitting back at the allegations of the Congress, JMM General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said that on many previous occasions also the matter has been raised by the BJP. He said that the government has many agencies and it orders a probe by any one of them. He said that earlier also a SIT was formed under Devashish Gupta to probe into these allegations and sought to know from the BJP as to why the report of the Devashish Gupta committee was not being made out in public domain. Taking swipe at the central and the state government he said that both of them were good at making use of agencies like CBI, CVC and ED and pointed that when CBI wanted to probe into the Bakoria encounter the state government went to the court against it and only after the High Court rapped the state government the probe could commence further.
