Latehar: In a joint operation conducted by the district police and the CRPF personnel huge quantity of cartridges including a gun was recovered from Mari Pandaram village forest under Heranj police station area of this district.
Following a secret tip off regarding the movement of ultras belonging to the Tritye Sammelan Prastuti Committee a joint operation was conducted by the police and CRPF in the area. CRPF assistant commandant Vikas Kumar said that TSPC ultras had plans to inflict damage on the security forces during the upcoming Lok Sabha polls but their intentions were failed by the timely intervention of the security forces.
He said the items recovered included a 315 bore Magnum rifle, 106 cartridges of 9 mm, 96 cartridges of 7.62 mm, 70 cartridges of. 315 mm, 19 empty cartridges and 10 packets of gelatin tube each weighing 125 grams.
