Ranchi: State BJP President and Chaibasa MP Laxman Giluwa said that sitting Ranchi MP Ram Tahal Chowdhary will not be fielded from Ranchi Lok Sabha seat by the party despite having a very good report card. He said that party has taken a policy decision that leaders above 75 years will not contest Lok Sabha polls and on the same grounds tickets of other senior leaders have been cut
and the same principle would be applicable to him and his name will not be considered.
Mr Giluwa said that a BJP worker will only contest from Ranchi and the name would be announced in a couple of days. He said that the state unit had recommended the names of Sanjay Seth, Aditya Sahu and Naveen Jaiswal for the ticket from Ranchi and one among them should get the final nod. The state president said that despite report cards of Chatra MP Sunil Singh and Koderma MP Ravindra Rai not being good still their names are being considered for the seats. He, however, did admit that name of Tala Marandi was doing the rounds for Rajmahal Lok Sabha seat as a probable candidate.
Mr Giluwa said that Tala Marandi and Ramtahal Chowdhary should support other party candidate and should refrain from making anti party statements or they would be facing disciplinary action. He said that Annapurna Devi Girinath Singh and Janardhan Paswan have not joined the BJP for the ticket but they were included in the party as they expressed their desire to work for the BJP but now as they have become members of the party their names could also be considered. Mr Giluwa said that with the departure of senior leaders the ‘lantern’ of RJD has stopped burning in Jharkhand as not only senior leaders but workers from many districts have also resigned from the party.
