RJD gives Mahagathbandhan PC a miss, remains adamant on Palamu and Chatra

Ranchi: In growing signs of things not being well between the allies of Mahagathbandhan over the seat-sharing formula the RJD not only gave the joint press conference a miss but remained adamant that at any cost it will contest from Chatra and Palamu seats. Earlier in the day, General Secretary of the RJD Sanjay Yadav had held a press conference at the party headquarters where he clearly said that the party will not settle for less than two seats. He went on to say that if Palamu and Chatra seats are not given to the party than it was ready to have a friendly contest on these two seats. Later in the afternoon in the seat-sharing formula announced by the
Mahagathbandhan the RJD was given the lone seat of Palamu.

When asked about the absence of RJD leaders in the press conference state Congress president Dr Ajay Kumar said efforts are on to make the RJD understand and accept the Palamu seat. He said that only time will tell whether the RJD would understand or not however he ruled out of having friendly fights on any of the seats among the allies of Mahagathbandhan. He also refused to comment whether state RJD president Annapurna Devi was in touch with them. When the same question was posed to RJD leader Sanjay Yadav he too just maintained that she is not joining the BJP but could not divulge further details.
