More than a dozen homes destroyed in fire in Godda

Godda: In a major fire which broke out in Mahuadih village under Meherma police station area of this district 18 homes were
destroyed. Villagers said it is estimated that property worth about Rs 20 lakh has been destroyed.

Though the police reached shortly after the incident but for more than one hour the fire tenders did not reach on time forcing the villagers to use their own means to douse the flames. By the time fire engines arrived at the spot, 18 homes were completely destroyed forcing the people to spend the night on the roads and open skies.
