Huge cache of arms and explosives seized in Palamu

Daltonganj: In a major success for the security forces a huge quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered from Donra forest
under Pipra Police Station area of the Palamu district. Police said that following a secret tip off received by DIG Palamu Range Vipul
Shukla a joint team of the district police and CRPF’s 134th battalion conducted raids during which the recovery was made.

The items recovered included two country-made guns including a rifle, 2 IEDs weighing five kilograms each, four electronic detonators, 2 hand grenades, 200 meter of electric wire, 30 kgs of ammonium nitrate, a flash camera, 5 banners, 5 bag packs, 10 uniforms, huge
quantity of medicine, Naxal literature etc.

Police said that it is suspected that to create hindrance during the Lok Sabha polls the Maoists had kept hidden the arms and the explosives. However, no arrests have been made so far. Elections in Palamu Lok Sabha seat of the state is scheduled on April 29.
