Holi celebrated across Jharkhand

Ranchi: The festival of Holi was celebrated across the state with traditional fervour and gaiety. On the day of the festival groups of youth and children since morning indulged themselves in colours and Gulaal which they spread upon each other and also extended greetings. In many places, youth were also found dancing on DJ songs which were churning out popular Bollywood and local folk numbers.

While the day was about colours the evening give away to Gulal and exchange of pleasantries with people visiting the homes of their near and dear ones and enjoying the evening with gujiyas and other traditional delicacies. The festival also saw elaborate security arrangements across the state as police and administration had maintained a strict visual on trouble mongers and
anti-social elements.

The police station officer in charge were instructed to identify such elements and take action on them and they were also asked to catch hold of such people who try to forcibly play Holi and disturb the law and order. On the occasion of the festival, the markets also did a brisk business with the people indulging in buying new clothes along with colours Gulal face mask and other items.
