Giridih: Two people including a councillor of the Giridih municipal corporation was killed following a collision between two vehicles
on the Giridih Deoghar Highway while five others were injured. The deceased ward councillor Amit Bardiyar along with his other family members was going to Deoghar to attend a family function when at Karanpura Modhis car was hit by as SUV coming from the opposite end.
Such was the impact of the accident that one Praveen Kumar Mandal who was sitting in the SUV died on the spot while the ward councillor and five other members of his family sustained serious injuries. The police with the help of the locals sent the injured to the Sadar Hospital from where they were referred to PMCH Dhanbad for better treatment however on the way Amit succumbed to his injuries. Upon receiving information Giridih MLA Nirbhay Shahbadi and mayor Sunil Paswan also reached the spot.
