Posters banners and party flags not allowed on government offices and properties

Ranchi: Additional chief electoral officer Vinay Kumar Choubey said that on government offices or properties political parties cannot put up their flags posters or banners. He said that during the elections for political advertisement railway stations, government hospitals, post offices, bus stand, airport, bridge, railway flyover, government buses, government buildings and premises civil constructions, electricity and telephone poles cannot be used.

He said that on all these places wall writing poster cut out banners flags would also not be allowed to put up. On the other hand buses of State Road Transport Corporation municipal corporation and other government-owned buses would not be used for political advertisement during that period. Mr Choubey said that in this regard instructions have been issued to all the district electoral officer and pointed that in case any government institution has provided a place to some private advertisement agency then it should clearly be mentioned in the provision that during the period of the model code of conduct the property would be used for political advertisement only as per the directions of the election commission. 

Additional chief electoral officer Manish Ranjan said that political parties would be allocated Government schools and colleges for organising meetings on the basis of First Come First Serve basis moreover on this day school or the college management should also have no objections.
