Rain and hail storm hit Ranchi and many areas of state

Ranchi: More than half a dozen districts including capital Ranchi received rainfall on Sunday afternoon due to which in these areas power supply was adversely hit. In Saraikela-Kharsawan district apart from rainfall hailstorm also took place due to which in many
areas of Kuchai there was a power blackout. Even in many areas of Ranchi, there was load shedding for long hours. The incessant
rainfall and hailstorm has adversely impacted the crops of the farmers.

The local weather department in its prediction had said that many areas of the state would receive rainfall coupled with heel strong and heavy wind and had also predicted cases of lightning in some places of Ranchi, Lohardaga, Gumla, Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar and Chatra districts. The weather department has predicted that in this 7 districts rainfall from slide to medium range would take place coupled with heavy winds blowing at a speed of 50 km per hour.

The department had also asked the people to adopt safety measures and unless very necessary they should not come out of their homes specially in the rural areas or working in the fields and should stay away from trees as there are chances of lightning.
